Vegas Loop

Vegas Loop provides fast and convenient transportation to the Las Vegas community and its visitors, having already transported more than 3 million passengers through 8 stations. In its final form, the Vegas Loop will serve up to 90,000 passengers per hour, rapidly connecting key locations, like Harry Reid International Airport, Allegiant Stadium, and downtown, with transit times between 2 and 8 minutes.

Clark County and the City of Las Vegas have approved 68 miles of tunnel and 104 stations, cementing the Vegas Loop as a vital piece of the city's future infrastructure.

Status: Some Tunnels Complete and Operational, Others Tunnels in Construction

Las Vegas Convention Center Loop

The LVCC Loop — a 3-station transportation system consisting of 1.7 miles of tunnel — was built in approximately 1 year. The system cost approximately $47 million (firm-fixed price). Tunneling occurred during conventions with over 100,000 attendees and posed zero disruptions or road closures.

LVCC Loop connects the LVCC West Hall with the existing campus (North/Central/South Halls), and reduces a 45-minute cross-campus walk to approximately 2 minutes.

LVCC Loop opened in April 2021 for the Mecum Motorcycle Auction and has operated at all subsequent conventions. It has demonstrated peak capacity of over 4,500 passengers per hour, and over 32,000 passengers per day.

In 2024, LVCC Loop was then expanded to 2.1 miles and 5 stations, adding LVCC Riviera Station and LVCC Central Plaza Station.

Status: Complete and Operational

RESORTS WORLD CONNECTOR

The Resorts World-LVCC Connector opened in 2022 and provides a convenient and direct connection between Resorts World on the Las Vegas Strip and all other Vegas Loop stations, including the multiple exhibition halls at LVCC. Travel times, based on destination, vary from 2 to 5 minutes.

Location: Las Vegas, NV

Status: Complete and Operational

westgate connector

The Westgate-LVCC Connector opened in 2024 and provides a convenient and direct connection between the Westgate Resort and all other Vegas Loop stations, including the multiple exhibition halls at LVCC. Travel times, based on destination, vary from 2 to 5 minutes.

The tunnels were constructed using a Prufrock-series boring machine, which “porpoised” out of the ground without using a crane or digging a retrieval pit. This resulted in an expedited and minimally impactful construction process allowing the tunnels to terminate less than 100 feet from Westgate’s front door, providing for the best possible customer experience.

Location: Las Vegas, NV

Status: Complete and Operational

ENCORE connector

The Encore-LVCC Connector opened in 2025 and provides a convenient and direct connection between the Las Vegas Convention Center’s Center Hall and the Encore Resort at Wynn. This project is now fully operational with a transit time of approximately 55 seconds; during rush hour, the drive can take as long as 15 minutes.

The project construction time, from “access granted to site” to “tunnel complete,” was less than 10 weeks, culminating in a craneless “porpoise” retrieval: less than 50 feet from the Wynn Golf Course.

Location: Las Vegas, NV

Status: Complete and Operational

CYBERTUNNEL

The Cybertunnel was purpose-built at the Tesla Gigafactory in Austin to transport finalized Cybertrucks directly from the end of the production line to the final staging area located on the other side of an 8-lane state highway. This tunnel provides a safe, 60-second underground connection, bypassing the previous 12-minute drive on surface roads.

To construct the Cybertunnel, the Prufrock-3 boring machine “porpoised" out of the ground onto “The Monster” (large retrieval structure) inside the already-constructed factory, and exited the building on an SPMT (Self-Propelled Modular Transporter).

Location: Austin, TX

Status: Complete and Operational

R&D Tunnels

The Boring Company has constructed 7 R&D Tunnels in 3 different cities for the purpose of increasing the speed, reliability, and safety of the Prufrock-series boring machine.

Locations: Hawthorne, CA | Adelanto, CA | Bastrop, TX

Status: Complete and In Use

Hyperloop

Hyperloop is a proposed ultra-high speed public transportation system in which passengers travel in autonomous electric pods at 600+ mph. See the original Hyperloop White Paper here.

A short Hyperloop tunnel was constructed in 2022 in Bastrop to test the vacuum pump systems. In addition, TBC and SpaceX hosted 4 student Hyperloop competitions, where student-built Pods reached speeds up to 288 mph.

Status: Test Track Complete and In Use
